Introduction

We'd like to start a new Comenius project with the (working) title "2.0 European ways to faith".

European history has been influenced a lot by various religious believes, but Christianity and Judaism are regarded as the base of the occidental culture and identity. But what about Europe in times of migration and immigration? Does faith still play an important role? Let's take a very open approach to find European identity by tracing back various ways to faith, e.g. historical, geographical, artistic, political and, of course, religious ways besides others. We want our students, who might have very different religious backgrounds, to feel very close during the development of the project.

This is the reason why we want to use the new technologies such as Interactive Whiteboards (IWB), Virtual Learning Environments (VLE) and the web 2.0 in teaching and learning. By using these (social) media they can be in constant communication and discussion. This virtual meeting place is close to the students, close to their reality. We want to give them the opportunity to discover Europe by themselves, being an active part of it. In a peer relationship they will be able to learn more about European citizenship, national identity, multiculturalism and the use of English as a common language. Let’s see how Europeans find ways to faith and ways to themselves!
